Art is the time factory, Not required progress

I am a jewelry designer( Award winner IGI 2022). In 2014, I established the MAHOKHORSHID brand in Iran. Since I have been painting and sculpting professionally for more than twenty years and I studied in the bachelor’s degree in painting( Award winner of The new generation) and master’s degree in illustration, visualizing and making 3D objects is an easy task for me. I have always been drawing. Azade Baloochi
My interest in history, culture, and human social relations has made the human body, especially women, and their relationship with the environment always one of the main subjects of my works, whether in painting or jewelry design. Based on this, jewels have never been purely decorative objects for me and I consider them to be carriers of history and time.
Iran, the country where I was born, with about 8 different ethnic groups with different cultures and languages, with their own artistic works and tastes, and women who, since ancient times, have not spared any creativity to make their clothes and crafts as beautiful as possible. They were the main subjects of my studies and helped me to always have my own narrative in my designs.

My name is Azade Baloochi, I came to Amsterdam from the beginning of 2022 and founded Irap company for the above purposes.

Rooted ( Award winner IGI global jewelry competition 2022)

I have a collection of paintings(Utopia Ophelia) in which human and plant figures are intertwined. In fact, the relationship between the body and the plant has always been one of the broad themes of my artworks. This work is another example of this approach.
The dark and broken stones are the seeds that have caused the growth of the body of the work around the neck by taking root.
The importance of roots and seeing their life-giving beauty, and its role as one of the main part of the work, was an important aspect of my idea: that’s why I named this work Rooted

Escher memorial necklace
Gold river

Escher, the Dutch designer and graphist, is often known for his printed works of buildings with the so-called Penrose stairs, which combine going up and down in a false perspective.
Beyond the stairs, what connects all his works is a spiral form, the lines that surround all the elements of his image, from humans to buildings and the sky and animals and the space around them.
This work of mine is inspired by one of his works, in combination with what I have in mind of the world of brilliant forms of Iranian art: forms whose brilliance can be seen through the endless twists and turns of time.

DESERT NIGHT COLLECTION

Medusa memorial gems

Medusa once had a special beauty . How ever , to her chagrin , she lived in a land where the sun never shone . Medusa begged Athena to let her leave for sunny lands . Athena did not allow this because she feared that people would praise Medusa for her beauty , not her . The enraged Athena took revenge by turning Medusa’s beautiful hair into a heap of writhing snakes . Furthermore , anyone who looked Medusa in the face would petrify on the spot . Finally , Perseus gave her head to Athena , who placed it on her shield to petrify ene mies

My source of inspiration is the idea that all the stones are the people who are left a gem from them , by Medusa’s look

Material: White gold, Emerald, Dyamond
Method: hand drawing

ABOVE THE GOLDEN CLOUDS COLLECTION

SIAVASHGERD

Siavash, as the most peace-loving character in Persian mythology, built a city called Siavash-gerd, who carved on the wall of his palace, the images of countries and kings of different regions that were hostile to each other, which showed his desire for a peaceful future.

The building of history, its sky is stars, dreams and light, and its earth is the mirror of human presence, it is the only place where you can experience peace. If peaceful future has any meaning, it is a building that all humans have a common responsibility in building, because this safe building will be the common destiny of all of us.
Based on this attitude, I considered the most beautiful ornament for a person with the idea of peace to be found in the structure of historical buildings and in the design of its elements, the sky is golden, rich and safe, full of stars and full of golden sun cresset, which is an inspiration from Moqarnas. It is in ancient Iranian
architecture. And for the earth, since it is a reflection of human actions and responsibility on the earth, I used a mirror and in its design, I made the mirror works in Iranian architecture my source of inspiration.

Based on this conceptual design, its ring is also designed

THE crowN

I had a dream as a child. At night, when the moon shone, it was as if a large black crow were embracing him and falling into a deep sleep with a sigh of relief.
The CrowN collection is a concept based on the beauty of the night and inspired by the coexistence of natural elements in the darkest moments. Pearl and melanite are the recommended materials for this collection. The title is a combination of the words crow and crown.

FARANGIS

Siavash, As the most peace-loving cheracter, who yearned a world without borders was killed, from his blood sprouted a flower on the ground.
Farangis (his wife) cut her long black plait hair and tied it around her waist, as a sign of vengeance and defiance.
(Shahname Ferdowsi mythological stories)

In this work, based on the ancient tradition of cutting hair as a sign of protest and battle, a piece of cut hair, forever grown in a red rose and formed from the flowing blood of Siavash (Mehsa Amini), will be a reminder of the battle of Iranian society. To reach a safer and more humane world.

The “Moo” collection

This is an example of the presence of time and history in the form of an object in a work of art. I designed and made the hair collection three years ago in Iran.
I go on to continue my previous art work, based on the wearable sculptures idea, I am trying to keep my works, beyond mere ornamental objects, be structures that are more same as the body, which history and time are tangible in them.

In this collection, we put the hair that people sent from their loved ones in a frame and a neckline that you keep the hair always and everywhere.

KANG DEZH

This is a legendary city and fort in Iranian mythology. A moving city on the heads of Div (Demon and Monster).
My source of inspiration is the narrative of this mythical city in ancient Iranian texts as a magnificent, mysterious and moving city. In its visualization, I have used the image of modern and contemporary metropolitans at night
