Rooted ( Award winner IGI global jewelry competition 2022)
I have a collection of paintings(Utopia Ophelia) in which human and plant figures are intertwined. In fact, the relationship between the body and the plant has always been one of the broad themes of my artworks. This work is another example of this approach.
The dark and broken stones are the seeds that have caused the growth of the body of the work around the neck by taking root.
The importance of roots and seeing their life-giving beauty, and its role as one of the main part of the work, was an important aspect of my idea: that’s why I named this work Rooted
